Maruti Suzuki Wagon R AMT to Launch on Diwali this year
It seems country’s premier car maker MSIL does not want to leave any stone unturned during this festive season and intends to exploit it to its full extent. This could be witnessed from its recent launches in form of Baleno hatchback and S-Cross but also from special editions of its existing other cars like Glory Edition of Swift, Urbano Edition of Alto K10, facelift version of Ertiga and Avance edition of Wagon R. It is reported that now the Indo-Japanese car makers are planning to introduce AMT version of their most popular hatchback Wagon R in Indian car market during this Diwali. According to reports the AMT version would be offered in VXi trim of Wagon followed by integration of the same in Wagon R StingRay. If this happens that after Celerio and Alto K10,Wagon R would be third car from the portfolio of MSIL to be enriched with AMT system.
Continuing the same mechanical features under the bonnet i.e., 1.0 litre K series petrol engine churning he power of 68 PS and torque of 90 Nm, the AMT Wagon R will not undergo any major cosmetic changes except the AMT logo at the rear portion. The AMT system would be imported from Magneti Marelli. As far as price of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is concerned nothing has been so far officially revealed by car maker, but it speculated to be priced around Rs. 35,000 higher than existing version of Wagon R.
