Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, limited edition Krest launched
Just a day after announcing its plans for festive season, country’s leading car manufacturing company MSIL has launched the limited edition of its hatchback Wagon R in Indian car market named as Wagon R Krest. As reported earlier yesterday the car maker had announced to launch limited editions of Swift and Swift Dzire as Silver Plus and Regalia during the upcoming festive season. Coming back to limited edition Krest it has been offered with some cosmetic changes and has been priced little bit higher than its existing price, which is due to integration of additional features. The front fascia of Krest receives new front grille followed by body colored housings for fog lamps. The interior has been now developed with double-din stereo system supporting connectivity with Bluetooth, remote central locking system, reverse parking sensors with digital display, new covers for seats and steering wheel, mud flaps, and carpet floor. According to sources of company the cost this whole package offered for interiors is Rs. 32,500, but going through the festive season company is going to offer them with price tag of Rs. 22,500.
Under the bonnet the limited edition Krest continues the same existing K10B 1.0 litre, three cylinder petrol engine boosting the power of 68PS at 6200 rpm and torque of 90Nm at 3500 rpm. The hatchback delivers the fuel efficient performance of 20.51 kmpl ARAI certified. The price of regular different trims available under Wagon R are offered within the price range of Rs. 3.52 lakh (ex-showroom price) to Rs. 4.07 lakh (ex-showroom price). According to sales statistics revealed by industry sources the hatchback is placed at fourth position in terms of sales for the month of August 2014.
Addressing the launch event of Limited edition Wagon R Krest Mr. Manohar Bhat, Vice-President, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that Wagon R is one of the best selling hatchbacks in country which is recognized for its remarkable features and fuel efficient performance. The limited edition Krest takes the legacy of Wagon R to new heights making it a contemporary hatchback by integrating various new and interesting features like double-din stereo system supporting connectivity with Bluetooth, reverse parking sensors etc.
