Maruti talk in vain yet again, still disturbed Manesar manages to produce 200 cars

The dialogue between the Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) and its dissenting workforce fetched no result again, despite the fact that this time the meet was supported by the Haryana state administration.

Till now no way-out has arrived as the impasse entered 13th day at MSI’s three manufacturing units. But still the company claims to have produced 200 units from its Manesar plant on 19th October. The rollout was possible after the largest carmaker in India reinstated 200 workers at the Manesar facility.

As per Maruti 1850 units were rolled out jointly by its five manufacturing factories situated in Manesar and Gurgaon. These 1850 units consist of 300 models of in-demand Swift hatch that has over 1 Lakh customers queued.

The company official said that supplier of diesel engine and transmission Suzuki Power-train India Limited (SPIL) has began limited production. Earlier due to strike Maruti had to halt its production completely at Gurgaon facility, due to shortfall of components from SPIL.

Suzuki Power-train India Employee Union, President Mr. S S Yadav denied on the fact that the company has resumed partial production at the unit. As per him, the stand of the management at Maruti; which is controlled by Japanese administration is miserable and will not bear any fruitful result through the meetings.

Since 07th October around 8000 workers from three subsidiaries of Suzuki; MSIL’s Manesar plant, SPIL and Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd are observing strike, demanding the reinstatement of 1100 contract workers.

Apart from 300 models of Swift MSI also rolled out Dzire, Alto, SX4 and Wagon R models from Manesar unit.
