Maruti Wagon R records the sales of 17000 units in June

Continuation of decline in excise duties for six months by the new government has helped the Indian car market to enjoy the taste of good sales after the leap an year.  All the major car making companies including country’s leading car manufacturing company MSIL also witnessed the growth of 31% in domestic car market.  According to sales figures revealed by company for the month of June its total sales during the month of June counted to 1.01 lakh units, whereas company’s sales between April and June 2014. This is an increase of about 10% during the same period as compared to same period of last year.

Interesting the sales of Maruti’s highest selling hatchback Wagon R counted to 17,000 units, which is the highest sales of Wagon R sold in recent months. On the other side it’s another sibling Alto also recorded sales of 30,000 units sold in the month of June.  These sales figures seem to be very impressive in the current scenario especially when company has announced long shut down during the month of June.

It would be interested to know that Maruti’s recent launch Celerio of AMT also recorded sales of 5000 units sold in the month of June with waiting period of 5 months. Celerio has succeeded in grabbing the attention of buyers from all segments equally, especially its AMT version has played an incredible role behind the success of Maruti Celerio in Indian car market. Apart from this MSIL also announced the exchange scheme during the month of June as an impact of which its sales increased to 35,000 units whereas its retail sales recorded the sale of 107486 units, thus assisting company to retain its command in Indian car market.
