Maruti WagonR StingRay in the offing, launch soon
Almost all Maruti cars perform well both on the roads and on the sales chart as well but some such as Maruti Alto 800, Swift, Swift Dzire and Maruti Wagon R have always stunned other car makers. Now that Swift, Swift Dzire and Alto 800 have driven past Wagon R in terms of sales, Maruti is soon to introduce an all new variant of it which is christened as WagonR Stingray. This will be the premium segment version of the tall boy car and it is believed that those who missed some luxury features in this car will be able to get it in this. Though the largest car maker has always kept refreshing the model every now and then but this will be the first of its kind revision of the model.
Launched in 1999, there are over 12.5 lakh WagonR’s are on road and it is believed that the new model will create a new segment of its own with practically no rival. Experts have always anticipated a diesel engine under the hood of this car but it seems that there is a little longer wait as there are no explicit plans by the car maker to launch a diesel Wagon R. It is believed that if the diesel avatar of the car is there, this car has the potential to bring mammoth sales as being bigger and taller it has more space and it will then be a complete family car that is luxurious as well as frugal.
Currently there is no rival to this car except Hyundai Santro which is in the state of being phased out. Thus, if the luxury version of the Wagon R in the shape of StingRay comes, it is believed that there will be high sales. as part of the changes, there will be a new front, new headlamps, grille, bumpers, new chrome strips, new interiors will plush leather seats and other features including new music system. All these features along with a new styling are expected to be a perfect recipe for instant sales.
