M&M To Unveil Generation Next Of XUV500 At Delhi Auto Expo 2020
Amid the preparations for Delhi Auto Expo 2020 slated to be organized during the first week of February next year, domestic car maker Mahindra & Mahindra has started testing the performance of Thar and Scorpio vehicles with testing of XUV500 to be commenced in next few days. All these three best selling vehicles from the car maker would be showcased during the upcoming Auto Expo.
According to the emerging reports the new XUV500 will not only undergo the cosmetic changes but also the mechanical changes. The existing 2.2 litre engine will be replaced with the new BS VI compliant 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine, that will generate the power of 180 bhp. The same engine will also be offered in the next generation of Thar and Scorpio that are also be unveiled during the Auto Expo along with XUV500, however with different engine tune. Apart from the diesel engine, the new Mahindra XUV500 will also be offered with 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine.
The new XUV500 is reported to be developed on the new monocoque platform that will also be used for developing the new SUV, in the joint collaboration of domestic car maker Mahindra & Mahindra and U.S. based car maker Ford. The proposed SUV is speculated to make its international debut by the end of 2020 and will be launched during the early months of 2021. It is reported that the design of new XUV500 would be developed under the supervision of Italian designer Pininfarina.
