New BMW 3 series launch later this month

The 2012 BMW 3 Series which is a highly awaited sedan will be launched in the Indian market anytime during the last week this month. The new 3 Series F30 car will be a new car in the series and will replace the current generation of 3 Series in India that starts at Rs 24.40 lakh. A close rival of Audi A4, the 3 Series sedan will be further strengthening BMW’s hold over the market and will further contribute in maintaining its top slot position in the country.

Notably, there were almost confirmed reports around that the new 3 Series BMW sedan will be launched in India on July 19. As per the new information, the launch has been slated towards the end of this month and the new date could be July 25 as per the sources information. Meanwhile, the slight delay in the launch of the new BMW car has given a breather to Audi A4 that will be the most affected after the launch of the new BMW car. It is reportedly known that the new BMW car will be offered in diesel and petrol engine avatars and eight speed ZF transmission from the BMW 5 Series will make its way in the new 3 Series.

The new 3 series will also be produced at the German car maker’s Chennai plant and is hoped to carry a price tag of Rs 22 lakh. At this new price, the car will be able to compete well with Nissan Teana, Mercedes Benz C Class and Volvo S60. It is also believed that the launch of new 3 Series F30 will strengthen BMW’s hold over this segment which is also the entry level ultra premium sedan segment in India and putting in a much liked offering means increasing sales by significant number as Indian market is lucrative one for premium executive cars such as the 3 Series F30.
