New BMW 3 Series production next month!
BMW India looks in no mood to lose its numero uno position in the luxury segment to any of its German counterpart. According to sources in the industry, BMW India has commenced the trial production of the all new BMW 3 Series, the trial production is being done at its CKD plant situated near Mahindra City in the suburbs of Chennai. The new BMW 3 Series manufacturing is likely to begin from next month and the company could launch the new version within a few weeks once the production commences.

The new 3 Series was caught in lenses by paparazzi just a month ago. The road presence of the new 3 Series is like BMW 5 Series. Speculations also suggest that BMW is not evaluating options for the corporate edition strategy for the new 3 Series. The base variant BMW 320i will come stuffed with features like iDrive, cruise control, etc. Under the hood will be a twin turbocharged petrol engine compatible to a 8-speed automatic transmission.

Though the company has still maintained silence about the launch date and details of the car. However, the models which are expected to be rolled out are, BMW 320i with 2 liter engine with turbochargers capable of churning out 170-200hp. Apart from this BMW 328i variant could come equipped with a inline 6 cylinder powerplant generating 250hp also a 318d new fuel economy champion with 2 liter, four cylinder engine could be rendered. And at last a 320d trim is also expected to be rolled out.

BMW India is working hard to bring up the value of the new BMW 3 Series range rather than rolling out down sized variants.
