New Chevrolet Spark to add some sparkle to Chevrolet car sales
Chevrolet India is preparing itself for the upcoming hot car buying season. With the new Tavera Neo in and the Cruze coming in, the car maker is all set to start giving a fresh look to its small car Chevrolet Spark. The Small car Spark is being aggressively tested in India in order to give it a new look and was recently spotted in Pune. The small hatchback starts at just over Rs 3 lakh and is currently the car just costlier than Tata Nano, Hyundai Eon, Hyundai Santro and Maruti Alto.

The new Chevrolet Spark is expected to have 800 cc engine under the hood compared to the 995 cc petrol engine it currently has. The new 800 cc engine is expected to bring the price down as well and it is expected that it will have a price slash of over Rs 20,000. With this, the Spark will be able to enter a segment dominated by the above mentioned cars and thus the sale is also expected to catch up. Currently, the Spark is the entry level car by Chevrolet but recently with the launch of Hyundai Eon, the car was facing much downslide in sales. Besides, it seemed to be the right time for Chevrolet to give its entry level small car a facelift. If the car maker is able to slash some thousands from the car price, expect some good numbers on the sales chart.

Availability of an under powered Chevrolet Spark is though seem to have a negative effect but the price slash is going to play the game and the car sales will definitely pick up once Chevrolet comes up with the new Spark. The LPG variant is also expected to be carried on to the 800 cc model as it is one of the best selling models of Spark. Meanwhile, with the new 800cc engine in, the Spark will also be equipping itself to steal the show before the Maruti 800 replacement (could be Maruti Cervo) arrives in. Besides, a low priced car from Nissan Datsun will also get an answer to the riddle in the form of new Spark that is almost coming and ready for production.
