New Ford Endeavour launch soon after Ford Ecosport arrives this year
Year 2012 was dedicated to compact SUVs and the segment did see two of the game changers – Renault Duster and Mahindra Quanto. However, two major launches – Ford Ecosport and Maruti XA Alpha were deferred to this year and it seems that 2013 will also be dedicated to SUVs. As per the recent reports, where Ford is aggressively preparing the Ecosport for India, it will also be launching the facelift version of Ford Endeavour. Besides, there will also be a couple of facelifts coming to India during the year. Among all launches, the Ecosport with a price tag somewhere between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9 lakh will be the volume puller after the Ford Figo.

The expected launch date of Ecosport is sometime in the month of March-April this year. The car has already got the approval of ARAI and is undergoing some final rounds of approvals before its launch campaign begins. Originally a Brazilian SUV, the Ecosport is expected to repeat the success in this country in an Indianised form. High mileage, immense power and unbeatable looks are the three things that Ecosport vouch and this is what the young entrepreneurs look for in their first car. Being an SUV, the car will have the advantage of targeting the young generation that is fanatic about sports utility cars.

Ecosport will be the choice for those who wish to have something smaller than Endeavour both in price and in size. With a seating for five or seven people, the Ecosport will be launched in petrol and diesel options. Where it will host the award winning world fame 1 L EcoBoost petrol engine that is high on performance and mileage. The diesel motor will be borrowed from Ford Fiesta which India has seen to have performed quite well on the sedan. The new Endeavour on the other hand, will be a total facelift in order to counter the high sales claims of Toyota Fortuner and Chevrolet Captiva besides the Mahindra XUV 500 that has become the heartthrob in this segment. It is believed the Endeavour will be getting a comeback with the launch of its facelift avatar.
