New Honda Civic launched, new CRV getting good response

It is to be seen as to how much the petrol prices and the increase in interest rates will dampen the Indian car market. Sensing that India will remain as is, Honda has launched the new generation of Honda Civic now and the Honda CRV a week ago in Pakistan. It is noteworthy that petrol price in Pakistan is Rs 61 per litre in India rupees and here in India it is about Rs 72 per litre. A difference of Rs 10 per litre might have inspired the car maker to launch new cars in nations where the petrol price is low compared to those markets where the price is high. Taking a hint from this, it can be said that Honda is again adamant to continue with petrol cars otherwise it could have launched a diesel variant of the same.

The launch of the Civic and the CRV in Pakistan is a clear hint that the car maker is bearish about the Indian car market. Also, the Japanese car maker has already reportedly reflected that it could defer any new product launch in India and a Pakistan launch of the new Civic and the new CR-V could be another hint towards this. The new Civic is the ninth generation car that has been launched and it has a lot of front fascia changes that are going to lure the premium car buyers in the Muslim country. With chrome work on the outside as well as a sleek appearance will certainly make it an instant hit in the country where the car is already popular.

The new Civic price has been kept at Rs 11.25 lakh in India rupees and at this price the car easily outbids its opponents. Meanwhile, back in India, the car maker is offering a huge discount on the Honda City sedan and the Honda Brio small car and is offering a discount to the tune of Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000. This is to take advantage of the festive season buying that has already set in. However, currently the Indian car market is abuzz with the launch of Mahindra Quanto SUV.
