New Jeep Compass unveil at Geneva Auto Show

Where India awaits the Jeep brand and the two of its cars – Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Italian car maker owned brand is about to unveil the new Jeep Compass at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Notably this is the 2014 version of the SUV and the anticipation for this is worth witnessing in the industry. Where it has literally filled people with awe at the Detroit show it is believed that the car will amass the same enthusiasm at the Geneva Show among the European audience as well. The price of Jeep Compass is yet not known but it is highly anticipated that this car could also make it to India at a point of time in the future.

There are a range of changes on the new Compass as it houses a new transmission system. Contrary to the earlier, the new transmission system has six speeds and is an automatic one. The new car will be available in four engine options-two petrol engine options ranging from 2 L 156 hp to 2.4 L 170 hp. While the diesel engine option will be 2.2 L in capacity with two power delivery options 136 hp and 163 hp. The older six speed manual transmission has also been retained. With a slew of these engine options, the Compass becomes one of the most powerful SUVs in the segment.

Apart from the new transmission system, there are a lot of features on the outside as well as on the inside that will greatly differentiate the new Compass with that of the exiting generation. New grille, new fog lamps and smoked tail lamps and a lot of chrome inserts on the outside marks a new look to the car. While the 18 inch alloys give it the more robust look. Inside there will be Park View for smooth and effortless parking, brown leather seats, air bags on the sides for improved safety of the occupants are some of the features that the Europeans will like the most on the new Compass.
