New Maruti SX4 to be build on S Cross Concept, launch soon
Maruti India cars have been the heartthrob of the masses. Specially the small cars. The most recent car launch Maruti Alto 800 has been a grand success for the company that has let it pose a positive growth otherwise the Manesar crisis as well as slackened demand had marred its sales. But in the fleet of most exciting cars, there are some cars that do not sell well by whatever means the car maker puts in. This car is the Maruti SX4 that was launched to earth Hyundai Verna but it soon lost its sheen. Now the car maker is about to launch a new version of this car. It is believed that the Suzuki S Cross concept will be the new garb that the sedan will put on.
As per the information available, the SX4 sales have hit badly and where over 2500 units of this car were sold earlier; only 500 units sales remains. This is primarily due to the launch of Volkswagen Vento and new Hyundai Verna besides other cars in the segment. The SX4 was also considered a rival of Honda City but in the fight between these two Japanese, the Korean car Verna got the advantage. Initially launched as a replacement of Maruti Baleno sedan, SX4 is the second most expensive sedan offering by Maruti and its price starts at Rs 7.34 lakh. The costliest sedan –
Maruti Kizashi which is priced at Rs 16.35 lakh is also struggling to get some response from the people of India and is in a pathetic state in terms of sales.
Meanwhile, in order to make this car get some good numbers, the car maker is seriously thinking of giving it a new look. As part of the cosmetics, there will be new headlights, new bumpers, new tail lamps, new interiors and a lot of design changes will also be there. It is expected to launch sometime early next year.
