New Mercedes Benz GL class launch in India set for May 16
Mercedes Benz India, the country's second largest luxury carmaker, is all set to launch the two new car models in Indian domestic market within a period of one month including a next generation version of the high-end luxury SUV, Mercedes Benz GL Class and a new entry level luxury hatchback, Mercedes Benz A Class . Launch of the new avatar of the top-end SUV in domestic market has been set for 16 May 2013 while the A Class hatchback will be launched on 30 May 2013.

The company is offering new version for GL 350 CDI model of the vehicle which powers a 2987cc turbo-common rail diesel engine and generates max power of about 255bhp and peak torque of 63.2kgm of torque. The tremendous and powerful oil burner is mated to a 7-speed G-Tronic automatic transmission system. At the launching occasion of the new GL Class SUV former world number one tennis player Boris Becker is reported to be present.
In starting, the next generation version of GL Class SUV will be offered to Indian customers as CBU unit (completely built unit). But, by the end of this year, the new beast would locally be assembled just like M class SUV. The new GL Glass will be a rigid competitor of BMW X6, Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Rover Range Rover Sport at here. Besides, the A Class and new GL Class the German auto major will also launch a diesel version of the B Class hatchback by near future.
