New Volvo V40 launched, India launch in June-July
Swedish car maker Volvo has adopted an aggressive strategy. The car giant has just upgraded the Volvo V40 car engine specifications but the striking thing is that the upgrade is restricted to the European markets. The new engine line-up has very low emissions and is performance driven. Thus not only the car has got an upgrade, it has got a new treatment as well. Meanwhile, the car maker has just opened a new 7000 sq ft showroom in the luxury car heaven Bengaluru and it hopes to sell over 200 cars in a month. Currently, the line-up of Volvo cars includes Volvo XC60 and XC90 SUVs, and Volvo S80 and Volvo S 60 luxury sedans. The India launch of the V40 will be synched with the launch of Mercedes Benz A Class sometime in the coming months.

In addition to an extra emphasis on India, the car giant also is in the process of establishing an assembly unit in the country so that the price of its cars can be brought down. This way the car giant will be able to give fight to its rivals in a better fashion and will also be able to attain some high sales which it needs urgently when the overall health of the industry is bad. In addition to this, the car maker will be able to extend its presence in the segment where the Germans have sole dominion.
Meanwhile the engine upgrade of the V40 was necessary and two engine options T4 and T5 have been added. Where the T4 has a power output of 180 PS, the T5 churns out 254 PS power which is more than sufficient for this big hatchback. Besides, an automatic gearbox will be added to the diesel engine that will make it one of the highest mileage cars. In addition to this, the car will also get some new features that include a new information display system, new navigation etc.
