Volvo V40 launch in India set for 14 June
Official launch of the much anticipated Volvo V40 Cross Country in India has been set for 14 June 2013. Volvo India, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swedish multinational manufacturing company Volvo headquartered in Gothenburg will launch the much anticipated V40 Cross Country in India on 14 June at its new showroom in Gurgaon. The new Volvo V40 price in India is expected to start from Rs 25 lakh.

The new luxury crossover V40 is basically an off-road trim of the V40 hatchback. In terms of pricing, features and specs it is reported to give a tough competition to Audi Q3, BMW X1, MINI Countryman and Mercedes Benz A Class. Its exteriors and interiors have been made innovative which give it an aggressive crossover's image in the segment. The beast will be made available in both petrol and diesel engine options. Its diesel model will have a 2.0-litre D3 diesel motor under the hood while, the petrol trim comes loaded with a 1.6 petrol T4 powerplant.

Now, the Volvo is enhancing its presence in the Indian auto market and along with launch of the Volvo V40 Country, the company will also open a new showroom in Gurgaon. It is reported that launch of the V40 Crossover will be followed by facelifted versions of the Volvo S60 and Volvo XC60 Crossovers. At present, Volvo India includes the S60, S80, XC60 and XC90 models in its stable.
