Porsche Cayenne tops the sales chart in India, Porsche 911 Carrera launch confirmed
Porsche, the German automotive unit in India is expecting hike in its sales in the Indian auto-market and it is also looking forward for its business expansion in India with the appointment of new official importer. It would be Volkswagen Group Sales India, another German auto-unit subsidiary that would be the official importer of all the Porsche Cars in the Indian auto-market. In 2004, the car maker first debuted in the Indian auto-market and has delivered 1,052 units to the luxury passenger car enthusiasts so far. In 2011, it was the Porsche Cayenne that contributed 85 percent of the total sold Porsche models.

Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing, Bernhard Maier stated that the company expects its further expansion in market like India where the demand of premium cars is increasing significantly. He added that the company would now focus to introduce the products in the Indian market by increasing company’s presence through enhanced the dealership network. The company has appointed Anil Reddy as the head of the operation. He has 16 years of experience in the national and international automotive sector.

Managing Director, Porsche Middle East and Africa, George Wills mentioned that with agreement the company is looking ahead to inculcate new opportunities in the Indian region. He further added that for the company’s further expansion, the developing auto-markets are the key players and in coming years the company is expecting significant growth in the domestic auto-region especially with the fleet of new products to be introduced on the shores soon.

Anil Reddy, the recently appointed head of the Porsche Division at VW Group Sales India also commented that contributing to the further success of the car maker is a not a challenge, rather they are looking forward to add the maximum for the company’s further expansion with pride. He also confirmed that the company would now be eyeing to introduce the next generation Porsche 911 Carrera on the Indian sub-continent.
