Porsche recalls 483 Cayenne for a headlight module replacement

If you are a Porsche Cayenne crossover SUV owner, it’s time to call Porsche helpline and check if your car is being recalled for a faulty headlight part replacement. As per the recent statement released by German luxury sports carmaker Porsche, it will recall 483 Cayenne model cars in India as part of the global recall of one lakh units of the same car globally. The Porsche SUV priced around Rs 71 lakh to Rs 1.41 crore is available in India in Porsche Cayenne petrol and diesel variants.

As per the statement by Porsche, the Cayenne SUV 2011 and 2012 models have a faulty headlight locking system that could, in rare cases go off at high speed and need to be replaced. The replacement will take only 45 minutes and will be free for the customers, the statement further said. In India the affected cars are 483 only and the customers can visit their nearest Porsche service centre in select cities in India to get the replacement done.

Notably, the second-generation Porsche Cayenne, was launched in India in July 2010 and is available in five models, Cayenne, Cayenne S, Caynne Turbo, Cayenne Diesel and Cayenne S Hybrid. The Cayenne Crossover SUV was first launched worldwide in 2002 and is currently in its second generation since April 2010. The Porsche Cayenne is available in 3598cc, 2995cc Hybrid that runs on petrol and battery, 4806cc and 4806cc turbo and a diesel model that has 2967cc, 240bhp V6, TD engine under the hood. The Porsche Cayenne diesel is the cheapest car among these with a price tag of Rs 71 lakh. Porsche believes that it is not enough to put more power under the hood and compromise with the fuel efficiency, cars must be powerful and efficient as well. Thereby the company has also reduced CO2 emissions of the cars by 26 per cent thereby removing the tag from the SUVs of being fuel guzzlers and polluters.
