Renault KWID records waiting period of three months, deliveries begin
French car maker Renault has started the deliveries of its recently launched hatchback KWID in Indian car market via its dealers across the metro cities and is reported to begin the same for others cities in coming couple of days during festival of Dusshera. It would be interested to learn that hatchback has received an overwhelming response from Indian car enthusiasts and its waiting period extends to three months till January next year. According to company sources the reason behind the waiting period of three months is due to non-delivery of hatchback immediately after its launch. As reported earlier the hatchback has received 25,000 bookings just in two weeks after its launch.
Developed on CMF-A platform the hatchback has been empowered with 799 cc petro three cylinder engine boosting the power of 54 PS and torque of 72Nm. It is coated with five speed manual transmission system and is reported to deliver an average of 25.17 kmpl. Industry experts believe that company will be restrictive in production of this hatchback for few months to review the feedback of buyers and if it receives satisfactory response from them it will focus on enhancing the production of hatchback at its production unit located in Chennai.
