Renault launches powerful Kwid with 1.0 litre engine
Finally the French car maker Renault has launched the powerful version of its best selling hatchback Kwid in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 3.83 lakh for its base variant RXT while its top variant RXT Option has been priced Rs. 3.96 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom prices, New Delhi). Prior to this Renault India, the Indian arm of French car maker had showcased the same during Indian Auto Expo 2016 and since then it was one of the highly awaited hatchbacks to be launched in India during 2016. The main reason behind huge curiosity for upgraded Kwid was due to the superior performance of its first version which was offered with 800cc engine configuration. The upgraded Kwid has been priced Rs. 22,000 extra than its existing price rate.

The new Kwid now gets 1.0 litre three cylinder petrol engine that churns power of 67 bhp and torque of 91Nm and mated with five speed manual gearbox. It is endorsed to deliver an average of 23.01 kmpl. To make the Kwid 1.0 litre look different from 800cc Kwid, the designing team at Renault has made various changes in its looks. On the exteriors it receive 1.0 litre badge mounted on tailgate, racy decals on both the sides of hatchback, fog lamps and dual toned glossy grey colored side mirrors to give sportier look to upgraded Renault Kwid.

Talking about the features offered in both RXT and RXT (O) trims. The RXT Kwid 1.0 litre embellishes chrome accents on air conditioner controls and air vents, central locking system, seven inch touchscreen infotainment system, audio streaming with speed sensing volume control, audio streaming. Moving ahead the digital instrument cluster informs about average fuel consumption, dynamic gear shift indicator, and distance to empty. Besides all these features it also receives safety features like ABS+EBD, pre-tensioning seatbelts and driver side airbag. It is speculated that after assessing the feedback of buyers for Kwid 1.0 litre MT, company might launch its automatic version in Indian car market during the upcoming festive season.
