Silent recall of XUV 500 units by Mahindra and Mahindra
It is reported that domestic car maker Mahindra and Mahindra has silently recalled the units of its best selling SUV XUV 500 due to issue of alloy wheels. The action was taken after receiving reports of wheel breaking by few of XUV customers. The surprising element of these wheels was that all of them got damaged without any additional air pressure or any external pressure. The wheels damaged are alloy wheels but reports reveal that these wheels are not offered by car maker and are offered by Mahindra dealers across the country.

According to reports one of the buyers of XUV 500 got the alloy wheels mounted on his SUV and faced a serious accident. The accident took place at highway while the vehicle was running at high speed. This was not just a case because soon the same problem was faced by another buyer who reported the same incident while he was driving his SUV at the minimum speed of 30 kmph. These two unexpected incidents were enough to raise question against the quality used for making the speed rims which was supplied to the dealers and manufactured by Neo Wheels.
With an objective to provide relief to the owners of these units Mahindra and Mahindra has silently started the recall of those units that were specifically manufactured during the specific period. Of-course company has not disclosed the duration during which these units of XUV 500 were manufactured. To get the wheels replaced by dealers free of cost buyers have get the serial number of their vehicle get checked by the dealer of can get it checked at their own end and bring the vehicle to the dealer from whom they have purchased it. As the wheels reported to be defective are manufactured by another manufacturer the issue do not comes under the official matter of car maker and therefore the recall has not been reported as official recall by company.
