Skoda Citigo look alike of Volkswagen Up!

The Volkswagen Up! made it big at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show. But, this is not all from the Europe's largest car manufacturer. Now, Volkswagen's subsidy Skoda has come up with the details of Skoda Citigo city car. Skoda Citigo will be launched in Czech Republic late this year, and then in Europe next year. Skoda has made plans of aggressive car launches with launch of a new car every six months. The Skoda Citigo is a variant of the Volkswagen Up! The small car would be powered by 1.0 Litre three cylinder petrol engine. Skoda Citigo would be based upon front wheel drive platform, and it would be genuine four seater just like Up! Citigo's would be 1480mm high, 3560mm long, 1650mm wide. However, the wheelbase would be 2420mm so as to increase the cabin space and seat four people easily. The boot volume would be of 251 liters, and with foldable rear seats, it would be possible to increase to 951 liters.

Skoda Citigo's 3 door variant's rear seats would be accessible through 'Easy Entry' system. As the most famous fashion, the front seat would fold forward, in order to access the rear seats. The interior is likely to be similar to Volkswagen Up's styling. The Skoda Citigo would, initially have a manual transmission version, though, later on, a five speed auto transmission version would be launched as well. Now, the question that many people are asking is, whether the automobile company will launch the Citigo in India, or not? The possibilities are high as the Indian market largely consists of small cars, or hatchbacks.

Looks like Volkswagen Up may have been outdone by Skoda in the styling department.
