Skoda Laura eliminated from Indian car market

Skoda India the Indian arm of Czech car maker Skoda Motors has phased out the production of its premium sedan Skoda Laura from Indian car market with immediate effect and has also removed the display and features of Laura from its official website. Thus exhibiting that it has completely eliminated Laura from its flagship. Prior to this company had launched the new Octavia in Indian car market during the first week of October this year.
 
 
Skoda Laura was launched in both petrol and diesel trims in Indian car market. The petrol Laura was empowered with 1.8 litre TSI turbo engine developing the power of 160 bhp and torque of 250 Nm.  The diesel variant was equipped with 2.0 litre TDI turbo diesel engine offered with two options of power generation one generating the power of 108  bhp and torque of 205 Nm, whereas other developing the power of 138 bhp and torque of 320 Nm.

The engine offering the power output of 108  bhp was coated with five speed manual transmission system, whereas the other one offering the power generation of 138 bhp was offered with two gearbox followed by six speed manual and dual clutch DSG gearbox. On the other side petrol variant was offered in both six speed manual and 7 speed dual clutch DSG gearbox. The price of basic model of Skoda Laura was priced Rs. 14.55 lakh, whereas the top end variant was sold with price tag of RS. 19.27 lakh.
