Suzuki Australia exploring the market possibilities of Ertiga MPV in India

The Maruti Ertiga MPV has been showcased in the recently wrapped-up 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, a joint venture of Japan-based Suzuki and Indian associate Maruti. An official delegate team of the Suzuki Australia has come to India to explore the market possibilities of the exclusively new Ertiga MPV for their local showrooms.

The National Marketing Manager of Suzuki Australia, Andrew Moore has admitted the dynamics of Australian market is bit different from the India but they are working precisely with Maruti for future perception of their country. The global designing platform of Maruti Ertiga MPV will apparently attract the International markets.

In Indian market, this seven-seater MPV will be available in both petrol and diesel variant from late March. The 1.4-litre, variable valve timing four-cylinder, petrol engine will deliver a peak power of 70kW and torque of 130Nm. Whereas, the 1.3 litre DDiS turbo engine churning out the best power of 66kW and torque of 200Nm.

The fuel consumption will be around 6.2 litre/100km and 4.8 litre/100km respectively. According to a Maruti Suzuki press release, the three-row interior seating arrangement of the car has been designed to accomplish customer’s various seating requirements including from day-to-day to weekend outing purposes.

At the time of showcase company has announced that it Maruti Ertiga MPV comes equipped with EBD, ABS and dual front airbags without any details of ESP or curtain airbags. Though, it is obligatory to mention if it will be available in some specific markets. The safety and emission ratings of the Ertiga MPV can be improved by means of LPG or CNG kits.
