Suzuki Grand Vitara launched, India launch late this year, diesel heart, price cut expected

Two of the Maruti cars in India seem to be always on the lookout for customers and these are Maruti SX4 and Maruti Grand Vitara SUV as they carry two negative. One is that they are said to be high priced and secondly, these are only petrol cars. But reports suggest that Maruti has given a sincere facelift to the Grand Vitara. The new Vitara has been launched at the Moscow Motor Show and the same is expected to be launched in India by this year end. Most importantly, the Vitara SUV will be brought to India through the CKD route. This means a price reduction is in the offing.

As part of the facelift, Suzuki has imbibed some of the distinct changes to the new SUV. These include an all new grille, bezel shaped headlights and overall revamped front. Side moldings clad in chrome and indicators on the wings. The new Vitara comes with a choice of alloys and one can choose between 17 inchers or 18 inchers. The inside looks are altogether new. New fabric for the seats and an all new infotainment system as standard for all models besides navigation system and reverse camera are some of the features that would be great on the new Vitara.

This is the second country where Suzuki has launched the new Vitara. Notably, Suzuki has already introduced the 2013 model year Vitara in Japan early this year and is soon to launch it in India. As per the buzz, the new Vitara that will be coming to India will have a diesel heart and it will be launched at a much affordable price tag so that the car sales picks up. Currently, the Grand Vitara price in India is Rs 16.94 lakh and it is not so famous competitor of Skoda Yeti, Chevrolet Captiva, Ford Endeavour and Tata Aria. All its competitors are available in diesel models while the Vitara is available in petrol only version. However, it is also available in manual and automatic versions.
