Come January and there will be another SUV concept by Volkswagen just like the Taigun that has created much abuzz at the Sao Paulo Motor Show in Brazil. The Volkswagen Up based Taigun has attracted the attention of car lovers from across countries and its design was seriously appreciated. As per the available details, the new SUV will be a seven seater avatar and it will have a lot of features that were never heard or never seen on SUVs of this size. The new SUV is not all hoped to target India and it will be restricted to Europe and adjoining countries because of the price and the features that seem to have little market in the country. If it were launched it will be brought as completely built up unit and in all probability it will have a hefty price tag. But the Taigun SUV will be certainly going into production and an India launch of the new Volkswagen SUV is certain besides Brazil and China sprint.

In India, VW has very feeble representation in the SUV segment and it has Volkswagen Touareg as the sole SUV offering. The Touareg price in India is Rs 51.85 lakh and below it there is a void in the segment. The Touareg competes with Volvo XC90, Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Audi Q5, BMW X3 and the Audi Q7 as well as BMW X5 price wise. Thus VW is need of an SUV offering that is priced somewhere around Rs 25 lakh so as to maintain an adequate representation in the segment and the Taigun or the new SUV concept could be the answer.

Very good, but this a new SUV concept for the upcoming 2013 Detroit Motor Show will take much time and it would be most welcomed by European and American countries. Volkswagen should bring out an entry level SUV in India. The demand for VW vehicles is increasing to the country and this is golden change to the company to launch its entry level SUV against Fortuner, Honda CR-V, BMW X1, Captiva etc.
