Volkswagen Up 5-door car bookings on

The German car maker Volkswagen has recently started receiving booking for the five door version of its small car VW UP. The five door Volkswagen Up price in there is GBP8, 360 (around Rs 7.24 lakh). The five door Up was recently launched in there. Meanwhile the Skoda Citigo launched in UK recently is also proving itself well and is gaining volumes day by day. Being small cars, both the Up and Citigo have high prospects. In India, both these small cars are highly expected but the respective car makers seem to pay no heed to the immense potential in the market.

It was reportedly known that VW and Skoda are undergoing survey to decide whether to launch or delay the launch of these cars in India. As from experts perspective, the Skoda Citigo and Volkswagen Up are both small cars and India is a heaven for small cars like these. However, pricing could have been the issue. But it would not be difficult for VW or Skoda to drop some safety and other features and come out with a low priced under Rs 5 lakh variants of these cars. It seems that the ongoing petrol price hike as well as other factors are desisting the car makers from launching these cars in India.

The five door Volkswagen Up in UK is offered at an extra GBP365 of the price of the three door Up and is offered with the same features and same engine configuration options. It is offered in three trims – Take Up, Move Up and High Up whereas the special editions are called as Up Black and Up White. As per the information and sales expectations, the Up five door is expected to have equal sales with that of the three door Volkswagen Up. Meanwhile the Up! Electric slated to be launched next year will be a worth addition to the lineup.
