Volkswagen Up spied, launch nearby

Two cars Volkswagen Up and Skoda Citigo are in news since long but nothing concrete regarding them have come up. Reason for this has been the lack of interest shown by the respective German and Czech car maker regarding the launch of these cars. Recently, the VW Up! five door version has been spied in Brazil. Most importantly, the car has been spied with changes that will be distinctly present in the low cost car markets such as India. The test mule was spotted with the VW Golf. Notably, the Up! and the Citigo are to premium segment small cars that are awaited in India as well and as per the initial information, these car are awaiting a launch only due to the delay by the respective car makers.      

The reason why the mule has been considered to be the entry-level variant is that all its accessories were in black and it is surely a toned down version of the Up small car. The car that was spotted was the five door version and its rear windows were split type. The tail lamps also seem to be a temporary ones and it is to be seen how the real tail lams look on the new car. Since the car has blackened window mirrors, the interiors were not visible and hence nothing could be known about the interiors of the car. But sources say that the car should have entry level basic features if it is the start model that was on test run.

This model of the car once launched in India will become the cheapest Volkswagen W car and will be placed much below the currently sold Volkswagen Polo. The Up! car will be powered by a 1 L petrol engine and for India, the car maker is expected to launch the 1.2 L diesel variant.
