Auto Expo 2012 officially announced
The world’s most awaited and popular Auto Show is going to be held next month in the capital of the country. The official announcement of the Auto Expo 2012 has been made in a press conference in New Delhi. This time more than 32 car launches will take place in the show along with bikes and other vehicles display. The Auto Show will see the inauguration on 5th January 2012 at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi and will carry on for seven days.

The show that will be spread over 1, 15,000 sq meters of area will comprise of 16 halls and 10 hangers along with the open space has been completely booked by the participating automobile companies. The theme for this 2012 Auto Expo will be ‘Mobility for All’. There are around 1500 companies from 24 countries that include component producing companies and Tyre manufacturing firms apart from the automobile makers. The other pavilions will represent some important industries that work in conjunction with the auto sector in the form of audio and entertainment, accessories, compressed gas technologies, auto designing, alternate fuel, Information Technology and equipments of garage.

The auto show is collectively hosted by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) along with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The top global automakers that have their presence in India such as General Motors, Toyota Motors, Ford Motors, Honda Motors, Hyundai Motors, Renault Motors, and Volkswagen along with premium luxury car makers BMW, Mercedes Benz and Audi and Ultra-premium auto makers like Rolls-Royce and Bentley will act as the center of attraction.

Among the Indian automakers Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra will showcase their most anticipated vehicles that will catch the eyes of the visitors at the Auto Expo. Some of the expected Maruti Suzuki products are Maruti Ertiga, Maruti Kei Cars, Maruti Swift all-electric version along with a mini-SUV in the concept form.
Tata Motors may display Tata Nano diesel and some light commercial vehicles with in electric versions together with one-of-its-kind compressed air car called OneCAT that it is developing in collaboration with a French auto company. A sedan based on Tata Manza platform may also make way to the exposition.
Mahindra & Mahindra could also exhibit a prototype of junior Mahindra Xylo in the form of mini-Xylo and an under INR 4 Lakh micro-SUV. The company will surely display the upgraded and more powerful range of Mahindra Reva Electric Cars.
