Maruti Alto 800 booking amount Rs 5000, deliveries begin ahead of launch

Maruti’s most awaited car Maruti Alto 800 is just a few days away and the car maker has started bookings of the car. The initial booking amount is Rs 5000 and the car will be delivered after it is launched on October 16. Notably, the new Maruti car is all set to be launched in India and it will be competing with Hyundai Eon, Chevrolet Spark and Tata Nano to some extent. Its price is expected to be around Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.

The launch is expected to be the most important launch of the year for Maruti as it has high expectations from this car. After the Manesar crisis, Maruti’s prospects got a pause. However, after the Maruti Ertiga sales pushed it, the car maker is able to make up to some extent but still the September sales saw a 10 percent decline in sales. It is the Alto 800 that will be putting the sales of track soon.

Interestingly, the booking amount for the new Maruti small car has been kept low. Probably, it is a measure to attract large number of bookings. Also, this low booking amount has been a welcome move by the car maker and specially when the festive season is near. There are some reports that suggest that Maruti is delivering cars ahead of its launch on October 16. The new small car is also said to make new benchmarks in terms of sales as the car targets the popular segment and people were anxiously waiting for some new model in this segment. Also the price of the car will greatly help the car to gain volumes right from the start.

The car will be launched in petrol and CNG models and it is expected to return high mileage in both. Though it will be less than what Nano returns but industry sources confirm that it will be around 23 kmpl on petrol and around 31 kmpl on CNG. Since it is a remake of the Alto, it will have lots of derivations from the car. But Maruti has done all to make its exteriors and interiors different from the Alto. The car will be available in six shades.
