Maruti Alto 800 gets 17k bookings

Maruti wished there should be a bumper Diwali this time and it launched the Maruti Alto 800. As per the near official figures, the car’s booking has reached a figure of 17,000. This is neatly outstanding and that too getting over 7000 booking in the first four days. Launched on the Oct 16, the car has bagged over 17k booking and delivery of the car has already started. In the biggest ever delivery since its launch, a Calicut dealer has handed over 200 cars to their owners yesterday. Experts believe that the features and a start price of Rs 2.44 lakh are highly helping the car get some instant numbers. This booking figure is a record.

Now that the festive season car buying is all set to reach its zenith soon, it is expected that the final figure will be around 28,000 units booking by this Diwali. However, it is to be seen that how Maruti will be going to maintain steady delivery during this period as if the waiting period climbs, the booking might get affected. In addition to the price of the car and the Diwali offer on it, the mileage of 22.74 kmpl is also helping the car being an instant hit in India. Since there is still no prominent rival than the Chevrolet Spark, the Alto 800 will continue to enjoy the honeymoon phase. It is believed that the new Chevrolet Spark launch on Oct 25 will be putting some brakes on Alto 800.
