Maruti Alto 800 launched at Rs 2.44 lakh
Finally, the second revolution in the Indian auto industry has come with the Maruti Alto 800 launch. The Maruti Alto 800 price which starts at Rs 2.44 lakh that will also help make the car popular soon. The small car by Maruti is expected to fetch the same huge response as the Maruti 800 did. As per the company, the Alto 800 bookings have crossed 10,000 units mark and it is believed that it will instantly cross 12,000 units bookings figure today. If that happens it will be one of the biggest times ever in the history. This figure is not unachievable for a car of this nature as small cars sell in huge numbers in the country and as today is the first day of Navratra there will be huge car buying in India.

Maruti Alto 800 Features and Specifications
The new Alto 800 is blessed with a completely new exterior design which is more up market and eye catchy as compared to the previous generation Alto. The front of the car hosts a Chrome grille in combination with petal-shaped headlights. Inside, there is Brown and Gray interior color combination (first time in a small car in India).
The rear passenger legroom of the car has been increased by 15 mm, thanks to the use of innovative scooped front seat backs. Moreover the height of the car has also been increased by 15 mm, which ensures, more head and shoulder room. The top end variants are equipped with convenience features like power steering, driver airbag, front power windows, internally adjustable ORVM, etc. The new Alto will be available in 6 exciting colors including Frost Blue, Superior White, Granite Grey, Blazing Red, Torque Blue and Silky Silver. While the power steering is not a part of base Alto STD and middle range Alto LX. On the other hand AC is not available in base variant.
As most of you may be aware of, the car will be offered in both petrol and CNG versions, with considerably high ARAI mileage figures of 22.74 km per liter and 30.46 km/kg, respectively. While the improvement in mileage for petrol version is 15 percent over the previous generation car, the CNG version is 13 percent more fuel efficient as compared to earlier.
The new efficient engine of Alto 800 is coupled with the technologies like Detent pin technology and cable-type transmission, which reduces the gear shifting effort considerably. The company has branded their CNG technology as Gas Port injection technology (i-GPI) technology, which is a factory fitted CNG version. Peak power and Torque figures of the car are 48PS @ 6,000 RPM and 69NM @ 3,500 RPM, respectively.
Auto industry pundits have predicted a bumper Diwali for Maruti only because of the Maruti Alto 800 as the car has already crossed the booking figure of 10,000 units recently and the number is on the rise. The Maruti Ertiga is also expected to help the car maker succeed in getting some good numbers on the sales chart this month. Apart from this, the prospects of Alto 800 are bright as it has few rivals including Hyundai Eon, Tata Nano and Spark.
