Maruti Alto 800, new Figo, Storme, Rexton promise a delightful Diwali
The ongoing festive season is expected to recoup the damage that 2012 has done to the car makers. The car makers too have pitched in their best of the offerings in a new garb and some have launched new cars to cash on the increase in demand during this period. Out of all the till now launches two cars – Maruti Alto 800 and new Ford Figo are going to stir the small car segment from slumber and put in some hectic numbers on the sales chart. Already the Alto 800 has clocked 10K plus bookings and the number is expected to reach 15K soon. Meanwhile, there are other car launches such as the Tata Safari Storme and the Mahindra Rexton that are going to further add to the Diwali delights.

The new small car by Maruti is priced at Rs 2.44 lakh and at this price it is within the reach of the entry level car buyer. Putting up an excellent option to Hyundai Eon and Tata Nano, Maruti has yet again proved that it only has the capacity to bring in volume puller cars. The Maruti Ertiga in the MUV segment is the finest example and the upcoming Maruti XA Alpha will prove itself in the SUV segment by beating the Renault Duster or any other compact SUV.

Meanwhile, in order to bring in so much commotion in the market, some car makers such as Skoda, Toyota have launched special edition of their cars to celebrate this Diwali. Skoda has launched the special edition of Skoda Rapid sedan with enhanced features which were till now available on the top of the line model. Toyota on the other hand has launched the Fortuner TRD Sportivo edition. The TRD Sportivo editions of Etios and Etios Liva hatchback were already launches sometime back.
