In a bid to meet the high demand in the domestic market as well as to cater the needs of the overseas market, the company’s Manesar plant will be producing as many as 2,000 units of Maruti cars per day from next month onwards. The current production at the Manesar plant is around 1500 units per day. The company has decided to manufacturer as many as 600 units of their Alto 800 model per day in comparison to the previous generation Alto’s production of 300 to 400 units per day.

The enhanced production will not only enable the company to bring down the mounting waiting period of their cars, but will also help them in selling a considerable number of this car in the overseas markets. With the launch of new Alto, the company is looking forward to maintain their supremacy in the volume driven small car segment, where the new entrants like Hyundai EON are posing a tough competition for Maruti.
