Maruti’s ambitious marketing plan this year
Maruti Suzuki India Limited the largest car seller in India has unveiled an aggressive marketing plan for the competitive Indian terrain with the planned rollout of RIII a Multi Purpose Vehicle, the new avatar of the sedan Maruti Swift Dzire and the new generation Maruti Swift.
The launch of these new generation cars is expected to happen in the second half of the year with the new Maruti Swift leading the pack with its launch slated in August this year followed by others. The existing model of Swift has already been phased out with production coming to a halt.
RIII is however the new buzzword. The new generation MPV with cutting edge technological features is expected to do well specially with its diesel version. Even the sale of Maruti Swift which sells almost to the tune of 10,000 units per month is skewed more towards diesel segment which amounts to almost 60% of the total sales.
Although the overall car market in India is slated to decline in volumes in the year2011-2012, Maruti Suzuki has an ambitious target of 14.4 lakh units to be accomplished. The car maker is focusing more on the diesel segment keeping in mind the rise in petrol prices and the consumer interest moving towards the more economical options.
