Mitsubishi Mirage has six months waiting time in Thailand!

Mitsubishi Mirage has certainly shown a lot of potential and this has been thoroughly proved in Thailand, where it was rolled out in March 2012. According to the fresh reports, Mirage is a big success in Thailand and has performed quite well. The car received so many booking soon after it was launched there. This remarkable performance has pepped up Mitsubishi Motors Thailand to actually establish production at its assembly lines. About 20000 units have already been ordered since the time of its launch. The amplified capacity of the company plant will hopefully deliver all the booked cars by the end of 2012. The waiting list is about more than 6 months, which shows the high demand.

Mitsubishi Motors’ largest plant is Laem Chabang one and the export unit located outside Japan can easily produce about 1.5 lakh units annually, which will be soon upgraded to about 2 lakh units. Also, the company is planning to export Mitsubishi Mirage to Japan, Europe and Asia. However, India export is still doubtful. The firm is busy assessing its partnership with the famous Hindustan Motors.

Mitsubishi to launch Mirage to India will be a rigorous task as it will have to keep in mind three major things, including pricing, local production and obviously amplifying the Sales and Service network here. Looking at the current condition of Mitsubishi in India, it has not doing quite well here because of the three factors mentioned above. Another major reason that Mitsubishi isn’t doing well here is the lack of diesel engine options in its cars here.

However, Mitsubishi Mirage is an ideal mass product if released in India will give a tough competition to cars like Hyundai i20, Maruti Swift, Nissan Micra and Volkswagen Polo. And it will also need diesel engine and work on its sales and services to make it work for the Indian consumers.
