Mitsubishi Mirage small car to launch in India by 2012

To achieve success in the Indian auto sector or to catch up the attraction of the car-buyers; as a new entrant in the Indian automotive sector, this has been the time and tested formula. And the recipe is to launch a small or hatchback car for the customers, in order to pump up your sales volumes. The prescription very well fits with Mitsubishi Motors in the country and the company has also got the remedy in the name of Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback car; which is due for unveil in December month’s Tokyo Auto Show.

Since the company has announced that the small car will be displayed at the auto show, there has been the speculations made that Mitsubishi car will definitely see an India launch by next year or further than.

The Japan based carmaker had released the first-cut of a car in the sketch form at Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, which was tagged by the company as soon-to-come global small car and co-incidentally Mitsubishi Mirage appears very identical to it. As a result, being a small global car the chances of the hatchback hitting Indian shores are pretty obvious, also it is the need of the hour for the company in India.

2012 March will observe the vehicle’s initial launch in the Thailand auto market followed by its domestic launch in Japan by amid next year.

Mitsubishi Mirage will be made available in two petrol powered engine options, one a 1.0L and another 1.2L both possess three cylinder units, together with a CVT transmission or an auto transmission is expected.

The other key highlights of the car are its start-stop method that assists the engine to output less emission and produce more mileage along with regenerative braking in order to keep car battery charged up without laying more weight on the alternator that concludes in saving fuel.

The company also plans to introduce the Electric version of Mirage for its worldwide auto sectors. The Indian portfolio of Mitsubishi contains sedans Mitsubishi Lancer and Mitsubishi Cedia together with SUV’s Mitsubishi Pajero, Montero and Outlander.
