Mitsubishi plans to export Mirage to Asean markets, electric version in the making

Mitsubishi has still not been able to taste success in the domestic market; the auto maker from Japan is still looking for a trump card that can prove to be a game changer for it in India. If we go through the line of Mitsubishi cars present in India, the auto honcho lacks a hatchback in its India portfolio. India is known as a hub for small cars and almost every auto maker in India has at least one hatchback in its line of cars. Mitsubishi too is mulling to bring in Mirage hatch in India, however any details around the launch time have still not been revealed. Mitsubishi Mirage has been rolled out in the Chinese market and the company expects to touch an annual sale of 100,000 units in the Chinese market. The company is also working towards introducing an electric version of the car which is expected to be launched by next year.

Mirage is being manufactured at the Mitsubishi’s baht plant in Thailand which is also an export base located out of its home country Japan. Since the production is being carried out at the Laem Chabang plant along with the facility present in Japan, therefore the company’s focus is to make sure that the quality of the cars being manufactured out of Japan does not suffer.
