New Hyundai i10 to make world debut in 2013, i10 diesel in the offing
Hyundai has announced that the redesigned Hyundai i10 city car model will be manufactured at its Turkey plant. The redesigned Hyundai i10 is expected to start manufacturing from late 2013. Car enthusiasts in India will have to wait for the car till 2013 as the car would be launched in the Indian market after being manufactured at the Turkey plant. It will be the world debut of the car in 2013, the industry sources said.

The production of new Hyundai i20 has already begun in the same plant. It’s a joint venture between Hyundai and Turkey’s Kiber. For the purpose of expanding its Turkish manufacturing facility, the company has decided to invest 600 million US dollars. The company will upgrade the car manufacturing facility in Turkey with the amount of 600 million US dollars. The sources said that after the expansion of the Turkey’s car manufacturing plant, the capacity of producing the cars would increase. It is expected that the plant would easily manufacture around 2, 00,000 cars per year, which is the initial target of the company. The redesigned Hyundai i10 would also be called next generation of Hyundai i10.

The company has plans to make complete makeover of the car as it will become more attractive and comfortable for the drivers. The design of the car would be the main feature as it will be based on “fluidic sculpture” design. When it comes to styling, the redesigned model of Hyundai i10 would no less than Hyundai i20 and Hyundai i30 models. Look wise, the car would be more or like similar to i30. But, while keeping its focus on design, the company has not forgotten the safety aspect of the car. The company has decided to give the new gen i10 3 and 5 door hatchback styles. Also, what could lure the customers in India would be its 1.1 litre diesel engine and also 0.8L three-cylinder gasoline unit.
