New Suzuki Vitara rolled out in UK, Indian launch possible in 2013
In July 2012, Suzuki unveiled the Grand Vitara Facelift version for the Japanese car market. This was revealed under the brand name ‘Escudo’. The car has already been launched in Australia, China and Russia. Recently, the car hit the UK car market as well. Fresh reports suggest that the Maruti Suzuki could bring in Maruti Grand Vitara one to India by 2013. However, there hasn’t been any confirm news about this. But if Grand Vitara does come to India, it might be fitted with the same 1.9 DDis engine.

In the new Grand Vitara you would find some major changes on the exteriors, comprising of new aggressive front bumper, black fog lamp enclosure, new alloy wheel design, reworked front grille and new black headlamp lenses. In UK, the car has also been provide with 225/70 tyre positioned on the tail gate. The spare wheel here has improved length of the car by 200mm (five door model) and 170mm (three door model).

Coming to the interiors of the car, the Grand Vitara Facelift will now feature new seat trim accompanied by an impressive 6.1 inches of touch screen colored navigation system. On the infotainment front, Suzuki has worked hard and blessed the car version with a music system that supports radio, CD, SD card, and USB support with Bluetooth streaming.

Technically, the company hasn’t done any major change, except retuning the engine. The Suzuki Grand Vitara facelift will come with 1.9 litre DDis engine that has amplified fuel economy and toned down CO2 emissions. The carbon dioxide levels have been chopped down from 179g per km to 174 gram per km, while the fuel economy has improved from 17.64kmpl to 18.19kmpl. The Suzuki Grand Vitara facelift has been rolled out in Britain for a price of 15,995 pound, turning out to be Rs. 13.96 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki can do well only in entry level segment vehicles not in luxury segment....Its new Grand Vitara will also be given great challenge by Fortuner, Endeavour, Rexton and Honda CR-V.
