New Volkswagen Beetle launched at Auto Expo
Volkswagen India has launched the all-new compact car new Volkswagen Beetle at the Auto Expo in New Delhi today amid much fanfare and following. The new Volkswagen Beetle launch today also reiterates the German car giant’s hopes from India. Recently, the new Volkswagen Beetle was launched at the Shanghai Motor Show of 2011. The new Volkswagen Beetle price has been kept somewhat the same in order to woo a large chunk of the premium small car buyers in India.
Launched first in 1998, the compact car Volkswagen was an instant hit across the globe and was launched in India in 2009. This time the Auto Expo has been choosen smartly by VW as the perfect platform for introducing the new Volkswagen Beetle in India.

The iconic car of Volkswagen has a new front appearance with the introduction of bi xenon headlamps and the daytime running lights. A panoramic roof has also been introduce in the new Beetle along with other changes.
The car will now be available in three engine options viz. 2L TSI petrol, 2.5L petrol and 2L TDI diesel. The car is available in five speed manual or six speed automatic transmission option in the 2.5L engine trims.

The 2.L TDI clean diesel engine is the most favored in India following the rise in petrol prices as well as the performance delivered by the bug shaped compact car new Beetle. Besides being cleaner, the engine outputs a massive power of 140bhp and a max torque of 347Nm that makes the car even more powerful that it looks. Apart from this the new Beetle also takes care of the safety department quite well with four airbags, ABS and EBD. It also has climate control powered air conditioning besides steering mounted controls and adjustable seating.
