Nissan car prices to go up from next month
January is the month when there will be little car buying as most of the car makers have slated a price rise of their cars. Following the trend Nissan India will also be increasing the price of its all cars including Nissan Micra, Nissan Sunny, Nissan Evalia etc. Already Maruti, Ford and other car makers have declared a price rise from January 1, 2013. The Nissan car price rise amount is yet to be declared but it is expected that it will be upto 2-3 percent of the present price.

The three locally produced models including Micra, Evalia and Sunny are the ones that are doing well in India. The Micra small car has inspired Nissan India ally Renault to launch Renault Pulse and the Sunny sedan inspired the latter to launch Renault Scala sedan. Nissan and Renault have set up a manufacturing plant in Chennai and all the locally produced cars are produced here. As almost all the car makers are going to increase the price of their cars, the rise in Nissan car price from January 1 will not be affecting car sales in a negative way. Also, the price rise will be nominal. Expected price rise will be to the extent of upto Rs 20,000 or Rs 30,000.

The company has termed the rising input costs as well as the instability of the market as the cause behind compelling the company to think of the price rise of Nissan cars. It is believed that the decision to revise the price of cars is also taken in the light of the not so inspiring sales during the festive season. But the company seems to be hopeful that the rise in price of Micra, Sunny or the Evalia and others will make these cars more competitive.

Price hike of 2-3 percent will not make costlier Nissan Sunny and Micra as these vehicles are already available at affordable price range.
