Nissan Invitation Concept unveiled, production version coming next year
Joining the league of a number of leading global car makers who are displaying their future car concepts at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, the Japanese auto giant Nissan Motors unveiled its Invitation concept, there. The company is planning to roll-out a production version of Invitation model initially in the European market by year 2013.
Nissan Invitation is basically a B segment hatchback that is blessed with agility, cuteness and compactness, and carries a highly spacious interior. The idea is to launch a more urban alternative of company’s popular Nissan Micra hatchback. The company will be manufacturing the production version of Invitation concept at its Sunderland plant, creating as many as 2000 new jobs at the facility. The model will be sharing manufacturing space with its sibling Nissan Juke.

A highly fuel efficient supercharged 1.0L engine, which has currently been doing duties in the Micra hatchback in some markets, is likely to be a part of new Nissan Invitation model. Prospected as the highest fuel efficient Nissan car models, the new invitation model will be carrying Nissan Pure Drive badges. After initially creating Invitation Concept in its base market Japan, the company is now looking forward to adept the car for the European markets at Cranfield (Bedfordshire) situated Nissan Design Center.

Besides having a baby Sports Utility Vehicle like cabin space, the new Invitation model will be carrying unique technological features like Around View Monitor System that has four cameras to help in reversing and parallel parking. The cameras of this advanced system offer a helicopter like view to the driver. It also has a safety shield system to keep the driver aware of activities outside the car.
