Nissan Micra cheaper version upcoming in India, Australia to get India-made Micra
Nissan India had introduced Nissan Micra hatchback in the Indian car bazaar in 2010. Since the time of its launch, the car went on becoming one of the coolest hatchbacks in town. After the success here, the company exported it to many other countries as well. Now, the firm is in plans to export the made-in-India Micra to Australia. Earlier, in Australia, Nissan Micra was imported from Indonesia, but this time around it would be coming from India. Exporting the Indian Nissan Micra to Australia means that the car will now be equipped with the 1.2 litre petrol unit, which is present in India.
Previously, the Australian Nissan Micra was sporting the 1.5 litre petrol unit that used to produce 99BHP of power and 136Nm of torque. But the new 1.2 litre petrol engine present in India will be churning out 80BHP of power and 100Nm of torque. The smaller engine will obviously deliver better mileage and good performance on road. However, the five-speed manual gearbox will be standard, whereas in Australia, a four-speed automatic option will be provided. On the downside, the Australian car market doesn’t have the diesel variant, which is quite popular in India.
Besides sending the Nissan Micra to Australia, Nissan India also has plans for the Indian consumers. Of late, the new Nissan Micra was spotted on the Indian roads, with a new badge ‘Micra Active’. Apparently, this one is the low-cost Micra, which is expected to be launched in the country very soon. Due to low price, the material quality have gone down a bit, but being the Nissan product, Micra Active would be perfect for those who wish to buy a cool hatchback in a low price. According to the speculations, the new Nissan Micra Active might be Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 80,000 cheaper than the ongoing model.
