Nissan Pixo production starts at Maruti Manesar plant

Maruti has restarted the production of Nissan Pixo in India. The production began at the Manesar plant which was locked out for a month following the violence and the death of a Maruti employee. This Nissan hatchback car will be exported to Europe where it is among the best selling cars by Nissan. In Europe, the car is also the entry level hatchback by the Japanese car maker. The car is a Maruti A-Star lookalike and it has been tweaked a little by Maruti to form the Pixo model. As per various media reports, over 10,000 Pixo cars will be exported by Maruti as per the contract with Nissan. Notably Nissan has a global alliance with Maruti’s parent Suzuki to supply Pixo cars for the European market. Since Maruti exports the A Star to Europe and Pixo is almost the same as the A Star, it has no problem in producing the same.

The Pixo is a Nissan car produced by Maruti in India to be exported to Europe. It is also a possibility that Nissan could also think of launching the Pixo in India as well which is expected to sit above Nissan Micra in the price segment. Meanwhile, the recently launched Nissan Evalia MPV is doing great and is getting an instant response from the car buyers in India. though the deliveries of the Evalia are a little sluggish and will be streamlined this Diwali but the craze for the MUV and looking it as an alternative of Toyota Innova has resulted in an instant acceptance in the segment. The only factor that is keeping it aback is being new in India and new in the segment.

Hello...It is good news that Indian auto giant has bagged this big deal but how it will possible for Marut because already popular Maruti cars have a waiting period around 6 months. Maruti's car production is already less than demand, and there no other manufacturing is going to set-up. In this situation how Maruti-Suzuki will produce over 10,000 units of Pixo car...it will very difficult.....:)
