Nissan to bring premium car marquee Infiniti to India soon
With BMW introducing the Mini Series in India, other car makers do not want to be lagged behind. Sailing in the same boat, Nissan India is also thinking of bringing its luxury brand Infiniti in India. Infiniti was first launched in 1989 and is current selling its brand cars in Middle East, South Korea, Russia, Taiwan, China, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. Initially Nissan could bring Infiniti G Series saloon, Infiniti M Series and a mini SUV Infiniti EX. How and when the Nissan Infiniti brand will arrive in India is still under cover.

Extensive survey and drilling is on in India by Nissan to decide the time and manner as well the Nissan Infiniti cars that will be brought to India. The Infiniti series just like Mercedes Benz AMG, BMW Mini and Toyota Lexus is a luxury marquee of Nissan and it also has premium offering in saloons and SUVs. The Infiniti sells its cars in over fifteen countries of the world and India could be its next destination soon. Nissan Infiniti will be brought to India as completely built unit form and at a later stage, the Japanese auto major could think of producing the Infiniti cars in house.

Currently Nissan Infiniti has five offerings viz. Infiniti G which is available in sedan, coupe/convertible forms, Infiniti M sedan, and SUVs including Infiniti EX, Infiniti FX and Infiniti QX56. Most of these premium cars by Infiniti are sold under Nissan’s name in Japan. However, in India Nissan could bring these cars under the premium car maker’s marquee.

In India the Infiniti G series saloon is expected to take Mercedes Benz C class, BMW 3 series and Audi A4 head on while the Infiniti M series saloon will be a close rival of Mercedes Benz E class, BMW 5 series, Audi A6 and Jaguar XF. Besides the Nissan EX series will be creating tremors in the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 domain.
