Rs 50,000 discount on Nissan Micra petrol

The car makers in the Indian market leaving no stone unturned in attracting the customers to their showrooms this festive season. A number of discounts, schemes and freebies are on offer on purchasing of new cars in the country during the Diwali season. Going in the same line, the Indian unit of the Japanese auto giant Nissan don’t want to be left behind in grabbing a significant chunk of sales of its segment. The company is offering a heavy discount of Rs 50,000 on the petrol version of its cars. The discount is available across all variants of the Nissan Micra petrol in the Indian market.

Following the heavy discount of Rs 50,000, the base petrol version- Micra XE - is now available at as low as Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom price Delhi). The Micra XL model now carries a price tag of 4.22 Lakhs. The top end model has also come under the range of Rs 5 lakh with this discount at Rs 4.88 lakh.

It seems like the company has realized the fact that a higher price tag in the price conscious Indian market has proved a major factor in the sluggish sales figures of Micra in the Indian market. Despite being manufactured in the Indian market, the sales of Micra model have been significantly higher in the overseas market as compared to sales in the domestic market. The launch of new cars like Honda Brio and Etios Liva with competitive price tags has further raised the competition for the Micra model in the Indian market.

Loaded with a 1.2 Liter engine, the petrol version of Micra hatchback is capable of delivering a peak power of 80 bhp along with considerably high fuel efficiency. The car is currently competing with the likes of Ford Figo, Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto, Toyota Etios Liva and recently launched Honda Brio.
