Tata launches Sportz Edition of Zest with additional accessories
To commemorate two years of successful existence in Indian car market and the milestone of selling more than 50,000 its compact sedan Zest, domestic car maker Tata Motors has launched its special edition dubbed as Sportz Edition. The Tata Zest Sportz Edition has been offered with additional accessories of worth Rs. 20,000 along with additional benefits including exchange bonus of Rs. 30,000, free insurance of Rs. 30,000 and extra benefits of Rs. 68,000.

The additional accessories offered in Sportz Edition are new body graphics, bumper protectors, contrast red garnished ORVMs, body kit with red skirts, new seat upholstery, door visors and mouldings, extra chrome garnished. The newly introduced accessories are offered on all trims of Tata Zest available in petrol and diesel variants. However, the top end trim has been embellished with additional features including projector headlamps, Harman infotainment system and LED DRLs.

Launched almost two years back in both petrol and diesel disguises. The petrol variant of Zest is energized with 1.2 litre four cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine boosting the power of 88 bhp and torque of 140Nm, while the diesel variant churns the power of 1.3 litre Quadrajet diesel engine offered with two engine power tunes of 73 bhp and torque of 190Nm and 88 bhp and torque of 200Nm. Both the engines are mated with five speed manual gear transmission system followed by five speed AMT system in diesel variant boosting the power of 88 bhp.
It would be interested to know that despite of being 1500-2000 units of Tata Zest being sold by domestic car maker during last few months, the compact sedan has unfortunately not succeeded in standing next to its strong rivals like Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and Hyundai Xcent. This although has been surprising for car maker as compact sedan has not received any negative feedback from its owners.
