The Skoda Prize 2011 declares the Top Twenty
The leading and most prominent award on the nation’s visual arts scene, the Skoda Prize for Indian Contemporary Art has declared a list of the Top Twenty Best Solo Exhibitions took place in India in the last one year. After a great deal of consideration the jury declared the top twenty finalists, out of the 128 entries collected from all over India.
The lengthy list consists of twenty modern Indian artists at different points of accomplishments in their profession.The list included artists from all over the country; and ranges from artists who were exhibiting their work for more than a decade to those who got an opportunity to make their first appearance at the solo exhibitions.
India’s most promising and renowned artist Jitish Kallat’s work will be seen in the catalogue among the other works of the artists. The most appreciating work was of 27 year old Prashant Pandey's show Shelf Life and Navin Thomas who demonstrated his works at SKE Gallery in Bangalore.
And not to overlook the effort of young 25 year old Dhruv Malhotra and Ashish Avikunthak who were in the midst of the most noted artists whose names will be reflecting in this catalogue.
