Volkswagen Ameo Diesel slated for launch in August 2016
After successful launch of its ever first compact sedan Ameo in Indian car market during the first week of this month, German car maker Volkswagen has now started working on bringing its diesel variant sometimes during the month of August this year. According to industry reports car maker has started testing the same trim on Pune roads. The variant of Ameo diesel caught on roads had TDi logo at it’s boot and is expected to be empowered with 1.5 litre TDI diesel engine and will generate the power of 108 bhp.

The diesel engine expected to be configured in Volkswagen Ameo is similar to diesel engine offered in Skoda Rapid, Polo and Vento, but in these vehicle it generates the power 103 bhp and torque of 230Nm. The diesel variant is speculated to be offered with five speed manual gearbox system and also with seven speed DSG transmission system.

At present only petrol variant of Ameo has introduced in Indian car market and is enriched with 1.2 litre three cylinder MPI petrol engine which boosts the power of 74bhp and torque of 110Nm. It embellishes some interesting features like infotainment system that supports connectivity with CD/MP3/USB/AUX-in/SD card and Bluetooth, reverse parking camera and sensors, cruise control and touchscreen MirrorLink System.
